The Role
We are looking for an innovative and motivated Advanced Specialist Occupational Therapist to join Connect ED, a Specialist Eating Disorder Service within Tier 4 CAMHS. This is an exciting opportunity to provide highly specialist occupational therapy assessment, intervention and clinical leadership for young people experiencing complex eating disorders. Working as part of a skilled multidisciplinary team, you will support recovery through a strengths-based, occupation-focused approach that helps young people reconnect with meaningful roles, routines, relationships and community participation. Alongside managing a complex caseload, you will play a key role in service development, workforce education and the creation of innovative occupational pathways that improve engagement and outcomes. The post covers a broad geographical area across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and the successful candidate will be required to travel independently and efficiently between sites to meet the needs of the service
All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
- Part-time, Permanent
- You will be based at Templeton Business Centre
- Working Pattern: Monday - Friday
Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver highly specialist occupational therapy assessment, intervention and management for young people with complex eating disorders and mental health needs
- Lead and develop occupational therapy pathways and programmes that enhance engagement, recovery and participation in meaningful daily activities
- Manage a complex clinical caseload and provide evidence-based, occupation-focused interventions across a range of settings
- Provide specialist advice, consultation and support to colleagues across CAMHS, Specialist Children's Services and partner agencies
- Lead and contribute to service development, audit, research and quality improvement initiatives
- Deliver occupational therapy group programmes and contribute to wider multidisciplinary team responsibilities and duty functions
- Support workforce development through training, supervision, education and sharing specialist knowledge across the Occupational Therapy network

Knowledge, Training, Qualifications and/or Experience Required to Do the Job:
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy with current HCPC registration
- Significant experience in occupational therapy practice with specialist knowledge relevant to children, young people and mental health services
- Evidence of ongoing postgraduate learning and continuing professional development relevant to the specialty area
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with young people, families and multidisciplinary teams
- Experience of managing complex clinical presentations and delivering specialist assessment and intervention
- Ability to lead service development, influence practice, support learning and contribute to audit and research activity
- Excellent organisational, time management and clinical reasoning skills with the ability to travel independently across the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde area
