Are you ready to specialise, lead and make a real impact in neurosciences?
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Clinical Pharmacist with a passion for stroke, epilepsy, neurosurgery, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, and headache medicine to join our forward-thinking and highly respected team.
This is an exciting opportunity to develop advanced clinical expertise while playing a key role in delivering high-quality pharmacy services across neuroscience’s services.
You will be embedded within a proactive multidisciplinary team, working alongside clinicians, nurse specialists, and allied health professionals to deliver outstanding patient care across the Peninsula.
Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as ‘Priority’ and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.
Responsibilities
- Deliver a high-quality, patient-focused clinical pharmacy service within Neurosciences.
- Provide specialist pharmaceutical care to patients in areas such as Stroke, Epilepsy, Neurosurgery, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, and Headache services.
- Provide clinical pharmacist input to daily consultant-led MDT ward rounds.
- Act as team leader for the ward-based pharmacy team and as team member of the clinical pharmacy team.
- Undertake teaching and clinical supervision of pharmacy staff and other healthcare employees.
- Provide specialist clinical pharmacy services and advice to the clinical specialities, demonstrating a high level of clinical effectiveness.
- Develop a clinical interest within a chosen area of clinical practice to support clinical service to a specific group of patients within the neurosciences portfolio.
- Work closely with care group lead pharmacist & associate chief pharmacist for clinical services on the strategic development of clinical pharmacy services and establish clearly defined roles for pharmacist non-medical prescribers within Neurosciences.
- Develop and manage the delivery of pharmacy services to ensure efficient use of resources and systems including monitoring drug expenditure, delivery of financial savings within Neurosciences.
- Develop and build increased pharmacist presence into outpatients clinical areas.
