Advanced Test Engineer – Honeywell Aerospace, Yeovil, UK
✨ Job vacancy: We’re seeking a motivated Advanced Test Engineer to join our Yeovil (UK) engineering team, supporting life support and environmental control system testing at component and system levels in a hybrid role (3 days in-office, 2 days remote).
About the Role
As an Advanced Test Engineer, you’ll develop and execute mechanical system testing in cutting-edge facilities, including:
- Performance rigs
- High-altitude and centrifugal test chambers
- High-/low-temperature cells
- High-flow and pressure systems
Our site in Yeovil integrates supply chain operations, engineering, and technology, focusing on: ✔ Environmental control systems ✔ Life support systems ✔ Hydraulics & control/data systems
This hybrid role balances hands-on experience with modern, flexible working arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
- Test rig development: Design and build test facilities in line with applicable engineering standards and safety protocols.
- Testing execution: Perform qualification and development testing across airborne, space, and ground-based systems.
- Data analysis: Collect, analyse, and report engineering test data using data acquisition (DAQ) systems.
- Technical guidance: Advise project teams and leadership during design reviews, fault investigations, and troubleshooting.
- Documentation: Flow down customer/company requirements into test procedures, ensure compliance with HS&E regulations.
- Problem-solving: Assisting in product fault diagnosis and resolving manufacturing/production test issues.

Requirements
Education & Background
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in mechanical or electronics engineering OR applicable industry experience.
- NASA-level knowledge of life support and environmental control systems is desirable.
- Experience with pneumatic or high-pressure oxygen systems preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Technical expertise: Mechanical engineering principles, англ. aerospace systems, and high-g test environments.
- Communication: Ability to articulate complex technical information clearly.
- Collaboration: Adaptability for cross-functional teamwork and individual problem-solving.
- Analytical mind: Attention to detail in documenting and reporting test results.
- Office proficiency: Competence in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
