Advance your sales career with Sussex Life and LOCALiQ

Ready to take your sales career to the next level? Join Sussex Life, one of the county's most respected and established lifestyle magazines, and become a key player in helping local businesses connect with an affluent and highly engaged audience.

This is a field-based, consultative sales role focused on developing new business opportunities across Sussex. You'll work with business owners and decision-makers, building relationships and creating bespoke advertising solutions across Sussex Life's premium print and digital platforms. From independent retailers and hospitality venues to professional services, property, leisure and luxury brands, you'll help businesses showcase what makes them special through one of Sussex's most trusted lifestyle publications.

This is a highly autonomous role where you'll manage your own territory, prospect for new business, attend client meetings, and build long-term commercial partnerships. You'll spend much of your time working remotely and meeting clients across Sussex, giving you the flexibility to manage your diary while remaining focused on delivering results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and win new business by proactively approaching prospective advertisers across Sussex through networking, outbound sales activity, referrals and face-to-face meetings.
  • Work to clear financial targets and KPIs, consistently striving to exceed monthly revenue goals and performance expectations.
  • Develop advertising and partnership opportunities by understanding client objectives and recommending solutions that deliver value and results.
  • Build and manage a robust sales pipeline, maintaining regular prospecting activity and accurately forecasting future revenue.
  • Create long-term commercial relationships with advertisers, becoming a trusted advisor and first point of contact.
  • Generate repeat business and account growth through excellent service, regular communication and strategic recommendations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure advertising campaigns and partnerships are delivered successfully.
  • Represent Sussex Life professionally and credibly, acting as an ambassador for one of the region's most recognised lifestyle brands.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
