ADVICE LINE ASSISTANT

£10,328.38 to £11,303.84 per annum for 15 hours per week, depending on experience, plus 30% weekend enhancements

This role is advertised on a rolling basis and may close at any time. Interviews will be arranged on an ad-hoc basis.

St Catherine’s Hospice is a respected local charity providing specialist hospice care alongside statutory service partners (GPs, District nursing etc) across West Sussex and East Surrey.

We are seeking a weekend Advice Line Assistant to be the frontline voice for referrals and queries to St Catherine's.

The Role

This post is offered on a permanent part-time basis, working 15 hours per week. These hours are worked Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 4pm.

About You

Are you an excellent communicator who enjoys a varied workload? Would you find it rewarding to work in a fast-paced environment and make a difference when it matters most?

We are seeking an organised, motivated Advice Line Assistant, with excellent attention to detail skills, time management, and organisational skills.

The Weekend Advice Line Assistant will provide support to the Advice Line service on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00am to 4:00pm, including Bank Holidays. The postholder will be expected to attend mandatory training and competency updates.

While the role is primarily weekend-based, there is an expectation that the successful candidate will be able to attend weekday training sessions and ad hoc update training as required to maintain knowledge, skills, and service standards. Training requirements and attendance arrangements will be discussed at interview.

The Advice Line Assistant role will bring:

  • Handling calls from patients, families, and professionals with sensitivity
  • Providing customer service and administrative support to help operate our 365-day service
  • Keeping accurate records of all calls and ensuring confidentiality
  • Fostering positive working relationships with internal and external colleagues, supporters, and the general public
