Role Description
The Advisor will provide guidance and support on programs and initiatives that serve disadvantaged, disabled, elderly, and child communities. This part-time, remote role involves assessing needs, recommending services or resources, and helping design practical solutions aligned with the charity’s mission. Day-to-day tasks may include advising on individual cases, contributing to project planning, reviewing proposals, and providing input on policies and best practices. The Advisor will also collaborate with staff and volunteers, attend virtual meetings, and prepare concise reports or recommendations to support decision-making.

- Demonstrated experience in advisory, social work, community outreach, or related support roles.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to listen, empathize, and explain complex information clearly.
- Knowledge of issues affecting disadvantaged, disabled, elderly, and child populations, and awareness of relevant support services.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Collaborative mindset, with experience working alongside charities, community groups, or public sector organizations.
- Basic digital literacy, including comfort with email, online collaboration tools, and virtual meeting platforms.
- Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, and alignment with the values and mission of Green Shelter Society UK.
- Relevant education or training in social care, community development, counseling, or a similar field is beneficial but not mandatory.
