Position Overview
IEMA seeks a distinguished global leader to serve as an Advisory Board Member (Industry). This senior, voluntary position focuses on aligning education systems with the rapidly evolving demands of the global workforce.
Despite significant advancements in education, a critical disconnect remains between learning and employment. Millions of learners graduate without clear pathways into meaningful careers, while industries struggle to find talent with relevant, future-ready skills.
This role is designed to directly address that gap. You will provide strategic guidance to ensure education is deeply integrated with industry, shaping systems that are practical, responsive, and aligned with real-world outcomes.
You will join a global advisory board influencing policy, partnerships, and implementation, including IEMA’s Collective Impact Investment Framework (CIIF) pilots, where education-to-empowerment models are actively designed and deployed across regions.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic advice on aligning education with industry needs, workforce trends, and future skills.
- Guide the development of education-to-employment pathways, including internships, apprenticeships, and industry-led learning models.
- Support partnerships between universities, training providers, and corporate organisations globally.
- Contribute to CIIF pilot initiatives, ensuring strong industry integration and real-world relevance.
- Advise on innovation, digital transformation, and emerging skills within education systems.
- Participate in quarterly remote advisory meetings (approx. 1-2 hours per month).
- Serve as a thought leader and ambassador for IEMA’s mission.
Candidate Requirements
- 10+ years of senior leadership experience in industry, corporate strategy, workforce development, or related fields.
- Strong experience in talent development, skills strategy, or collaboration with education providers.
- Deep understanding of global workforce trends, future skills, and industry transformation.
- Experience in cross-sector partnerships or large-scale initiatives is highly desirable.
- Exceptional strategic thinking, communication, and influence.
- A demonstrated commitment to creating opportunities and improving outcomes for future generations.

Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants may reside anywhere globally and must be legally authorized to volunteer in their country of residence.
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
