Advisory Director – Financial Crime
Senior Leadership Opportunity | Financial Crime Advisory | UK remote
We are recruiting an experienced Advisory Director – Financial Crime to take a leading role in the continued development and growth of an established Financial Crime Advisory practice. This is a senior, commercially focused position offering the opportunity to shape the direction of the financial crime proposition, build a market-leading advisory capability and work directly with Boards, C-Suite executives and senior regulatory stakeholders.
The successful candidate will combine deep financial crime expertise with strong consulting and business development experience. You will be equally comfortable leading complex client engagements, developing new propositions and winning work as you are advising senior stakeholders on challenging regulatory issues.
The role
As Advisory Director, you will take a leading role in defining and executing the go-to-market strategy for the Financial Crime Advisory offering. You will develop senior client relationships, identify opportunities and build a strong pipeline while overseeing the delivery of high-profile financial crime and regulatory engagements.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Defining and executing the go-to-market strategy for Financial Crime Advisory, including target markets, propositions and sales strategy.
- Building trusted relationships with senior executives and identifying opportunities to develop new and existing client relationships.
- Leading business development activity, including proposition development, pitches, bids and strategic client conversations.
- Leading complex financial crime consulting engagements and taking responsibility for project quality, planning, risk management, commercial performance and senior stakeholder engagement.
- Advising clients on regulatory expectations and helping firms prepare for regulatory and supervisory reviews.
- Supporting clients in developing and enhancing effective financial crime governance, risk and control frameworks.
- Developing thought leadership around emerging financial crime and regulatory issues through articles, white papers, webinars, roundtables and industry events.
- Identifying market trends and regulatory developments and translating these into commercially relevant advisory propositions.
- Providing leadership, mentoring and development to consultants within the practice.
- Supporting the recruitment and development of the team as the Financial Crime practice continues to grow.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider business on strategic initiatives and the continued growth of the firm.

About you
We are interested in speaking with senior Financial Crime professionals who can demonstrate:
- 10+ years' financial crime prevention experience, combined with a strong consulting/advisory background.
- Deep knowledge of UK financial crime regulatory expectations.
- Significant expertise across one or more areas including AML, sanctions, transaction monitoring, financial crime risk assessment and management, and market abuse.
- A strong track record of leading complex financial crime, regulatory or advisory engagements.
- Experience working directly with Boards, C-Suite executives and regulatory authorities.
- Strong commercial acumen and demonstrable experience of developing senior relationships, generating pipeline and winning advisory work.
- The ability to identify market opportunities and turn regulatory developments and client challenges into compelling propositions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to make complex regulatory and technical issues accessible to senior non-technical audiences.
- Experience leading, mentoring and developing high-performing consulting teams.
