About Us
We are a high-performance Formula One team driven by innovation, precision, and passion. Our Aerodynamics department relies on sophisticated software and digital tools to accelerate development, analyse performance, and support the design of a competitive Formula One car. As an Aero Development Tools Student Placement, you'll play an important role in developing and improving the systems that help our engineers unlock performance on and off the track.
The Role
As an Aero Development Tools Student Placement, you’ll support the creation and enhancement of software tools used in aerodynamic development workflows. You’ll work closely with aerodynamicists, CFD engineers, and software developers to ensure tools are efficient, user-friendly, and aligned with engineering needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and maintaining internal software tools for aerodynamic analysis
- Support automation of data processing and visualisation workflows
- Help validate tool outputs and improve usability based on user feedback
- Contribute to documentation and training materials for tool users
- Collaborate with aerodynamic and performance teams to ensure tools meet development requirements
Who We’re Looking For
- Currently studying a degree in Computer Science, Aerospace, Mechanical, Automotive, or Motorsport Engineering and seeking an industry placement in your penultimate year of university
- Strong programming skills
- Understanding of aerodynamic principles and simulation workflows is beneficial
- Experience with data visualisation and software development tools
- Passion for motorsport and a proactive, problem-solving mindset
- You must have the right to work in the UK, as we cannot provide sponsorship for this role
- Be available to attend onsite for an assessment centre in September
