Senior Aerodynamicist

3 x Positions Available

On site - Prestwick, Scotland, Warton nr Preston, or Brough Nr Hull

£53.24 per hour (inside IR35)

The role will provide the future generation of aerodynamic subject matter with expertise in one (or at most two) of the following specific aerodynamics skills areas:

  • Flight Control Law Development
  • Flight Mechanics, Stability & Control
  • Air Data System Aerodynamics
  • Aerostructures (Static / Dynamic Aerodynamic Loads, Flutter, Buffet & Aero-servo-elastics)
  • Near Field Acoustics & Vibration
  • Configuration Aerodynamic Design
  • Computational Fluid Dynamics
  • Propulsion Integration (Aerodynamics)
  • Air Vehicle Performance
  • Stores Release And Jettison
  • Aerodynamic Methods Development

Typical duties include:

  • Aerodynamics support to the wide range of BAE Systems current and future AIR products.
  • Aerodynamics related research, design, computational analysis, testing and flight clearance for complex air vehicles.
  • Aerodynamics Toolset Development & Digital Transformation.

Governance:

  • Ensure Agile practices align with organisational policies.

Knowledge:

  • Minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience in the Aerodynamics domain in a research or industrial environment, with relevant specialist aerodynamics knowledge.

Skills:

  • Experience of working with customers, suppliers, partners, researchers.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, communication and team skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors/Masters Degree level qualification in a STEM subject (Essential)
  • Post Graduate (PhD) qualification or equivalent research in an aeronautical-related area
