Company Description

Wafi Engineering is an engineering and technology firm focused on advanced industrial solutions across aerospace, digital systems, infrastructure, and manufacturing. Its Wafi Aerospace division manages conceptual generative design, carbon composite UAV manufacturing, CFD simulations, and HIL testing under FAA and military standards. The digital arm develops full-stack SaaS architectures, custom ERP systems, web applications, and automated AI data pipelines using React, AWS, and PyTorch. Wafi Infrastructure delivers solar-integrated infrastructure designs, while the manufacturing wing produces CNC-machined BLDC motor fans and surgical equipment. Team members collaborate across these verticals to deliver integrated, high-performance engineering solutions.

Role Description

The Aerodynamics Engineer will work full time in a hybrid capacity, primarily based in the London Area, United Kingdom, with flexibility for part-time work from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Developing and optimizing aerodynamic concepts for UAVs and other aerospace systems
  • Performing CFD and related fluid dynamics analyses
  • Supporting wind tunnel test planning, execution, and data interpretation
  • Collaborating with structural, systems, and manufacturing engineers to ensure aerodynamic performance aligns with safety, regulatory, and production requirements

The role involves:

  • Documenting analysis results
  • Preparing technical reports and presentations
  • Contributing to design reviews and continuous improvement of aerodynamic models and tools

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Aerodynamics and Fluid Mechanics, with the ability to apply these principles to real-world aerospace designs.
  • Expertise in Aerospace Engineering and Fluid Dynamics, including experience with CFD tools and numerical simulation methods.
  • Hands-on exposure to Wind Tunnel testing, including test design, instrumentation, data collection, and post-processing.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency with simulation and modeling software (e.g., ANSYS Fluent, OpenFOAM, STAR-CCM+, or similar) and CAD tools.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills, with attention to detail in experimental and computational work.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills for documenting analyses and collaborating in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Desirable Experience:
    • Experience with UAV design, composite structures, or MIL/FAA standards is an advantage.
    • Ability to work in a hybrid environment, manage time across on-site and remote tasks, and adapt to fast-paced project demands.
