Aerospace Assessor required immediately for a large College based in Cardiff (Work-Based Learning)
Full-Time | Immediate Start
Are you an experienced Aerospace professional looking for an opportunity to support the next generation of engineers and apprentices?
We are working with a leading Further Education provider to recruit an Aerospace Assessor on a full-time basis. This is an immediate requirement with the successful candidate supporting learners both on campus and in workplace settings while a permanent appointment is being made. The role can be campus-based or involve visiting learners on-site.
The Role
As an Aerospace Assessor, you will support apprentices and work-based learners throughout their qualification journey. You will plan and conduct assessments, monitor learner progress, provide constructive feedback, and work closely with employers to ensure learners successfully achieve their qualifications. You will also maintain accurate assessment records, complete required documentation, and ensure all activity meets awarding body and compliance requirements.

- Assess and support Aerospace Engineering apprentices in the workplace and on campus.
- Conduct learner reviews, target setting and progress monitoring.
- Provide clear, developmental feedback to learners.
- Develop and deliver work-based learning activities.
- Liaise with employers and stakeholders to support learner achievement.
- Complete assessment documentation and learner records accurately.
- Carry out workplace health and safety checks and monitoring where required.
- Support recruitment, induction and learner onboarding activities.
Essential Requirements
- Level 3 qualification (or higher) in Aerospace Engineering.
- Recent and relevant aerospace industry experience.
- Experience supporting learners, apprentices or trainees within a workplace environment.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a caseload effectively.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Confident using IT systems such as Microsoft Teams, Outlook and Excel.
- Ability to travel independently to employer sites and learner locations.
- A completed aerospace apprenticeship would be highly advantageous.

Desirable
- Assessor qualification (A1, CAVA or equivalent).
- Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualification.
- Experience within apprenticeship or work-based learning provision.
Assignment Details
- Role: Aerospace Assessor
- Start Date: ASAP
- Contract: Full-time
- Duration: Ongoing whilst a permanent recruitment process takes place
- Working Pattern: 37 hours per week
