At Beagle Aircraft, we manufacture precision-engineered components and assemblies for some of the world's leading aerospace programmes. As our manufacturing operation continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced Aerospace Fitter / Assembly Fitter to join our team in Christchurch.
This is a hands-on shop-floor role assembling high-specification aerospace components to engineering drawings and customer requirements. If you have a background in aerospace fitting, mechanical assembly or precision manufacturing, can confidently work from engineering drawings and are comfortable working to tight tolerances, we'd like to hear from you.
The Role
Reporting to the Fitter Team Leader, you'll be responsible for the accurate assembly and fitting of aerospace components, ensuring products are manufactured to the required quality, specification and delivery timescales. You'll work closely with Production and Quality, following approved manufacturing processes while using your practical experience to help identify opportunities for improvement.

What You'll Be Doing
- Fit and assemble aerospace components in accordance with engineering drawings and customer specifications.
- Work accurately to tight tolerances within a high-specification manufacturing environment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, manufacturing instructions and specifications.
- Carry out jig-based fitting and assembly work where required.
- Follow approved manufacturing processes and quality requirements.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, accuracy and attention to detail.
- Work closely with Production and Quality to achieve quality and on-time delivery targets.
- Support other areas of the shop floor when required and contribute ideas for process improvements.
About You
We're looking for a practical, quality-focused Fitter with experience working within a precision manufacturing environment. You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience in aerospace fitting, mechanical assembly or high-specification manufacturing.
- The ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience working accurately to tight tolerances.
- Previous experience with jigs and fixtures / jig work.
- A good understanding of manufacturing Health & Safety requirements.
- A relevant engineering qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent time-served experience.
- Experience in other manufacturing processes such as sheet metal work or vac blasting would be advantageous.
