About The Role

As an Aerospace Propulsion Engineer in Aylesbury, you will support programmes involving chemical rockets and propulsion materials for the space sector. Your duties include structural, ballistic, and thermal analysis of assemblies and components to aid design. You will assist bid preparation, covering scope, technical volumes, schedules, and budgets, plus contribute to IRAD plans and improvement initiatives. Participation in Change Review Boards and Phase Gate Reviews is expected. A degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering is required. This permanent role offers a salary between £36,000 and £45,000 annually. The position involves standard working hours, with responsibilities spanning design support through to project governance.

My client specialises in the space industry, produces and maintains various chemical rockets and propulsion materials. They are also involved in creating composite materials such as carbon fibre tubes and aero structures.

Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for supporting Aerospace Propulsion programs.
  • Conduct assembly and component analysis structural, ballistic, thermal to support design.
  • Support bid and proposal preparation including: scope of work, technical volume, schedules, and budgets.
  • Support creation of detailed IRAD plans and support continuous improvement projects.
  • Participate in Change Review Board meetings by preparing and presenting TDP process changes
  • Participate in Phase Gate Review meets for development programs

Skills

  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or similar technical field
  • Seeking 5 to 12 years of engineering experience, Aerospace or Defence industry experience preferred
  • Knowledge of closed form and finite element analysis
  • Knowledge of solid modelling and detail drawing creation

Candidates will be put forward for Security Clearance (SC) once the job has been accepted.
