Job Description

ALTEN is currently supporting a major aerospace programme and is seeking a Quality Engineer to join a high-profile team based in Belfast. This role will play a critical part in ensuring the quality and conformity of metallic aircraft structures within a complex aeronautical manufacturing environment.

We are looking for candidates with a strong aerospace background who can provide quality support for production activities, manage non-conformities, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide manufacturing quality support within an aerospace production environment.
  • Manage and investigate production-related non-conformances (NCs), ensuring timely resolution and effective corrective actions.
  • Support quality assurance activities relating to metallic aircraft structures and components.
  • Liaise with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure product conformity and compliance with customer requirements.
  • Analyse quality issues, identify root causes, and implement preventative measures.
  • Ensure adherence to aerospace quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across production and quality processes.

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • Previous experience within the aerospace or aeronautical industry is essential.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing quality processes and non-conformance management.
  • Experience working with metallic aircraft structures, panels, or aerostructures.
  • Knowledge of aircraft production and assembly environments.
  • Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary engineering and manufacturing teams.

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.

Desirable Skills

  • Manufacturing Engineering background or experience.
  • Knowledge of aerospace quality standards and continuous improvement methodologies.
