Engineering Support Manager - Defence (Royal Navy Portfolio)
Location: RNAS Culdrose, Cornwall, TR12 7HR
Salary: Competitive plus excellent benefits
Schedule: Full Time, 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday

We are looking for an Engineering Support Manager to join our Defence business, supporting the Royal Navy Support Portfolio at RNAS Culdrose. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in leading assurance activities, driving regulatory compliance and supporting the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality engineering services.
Working closely with the RN Support Contract Manager, AESAS and IMOS Delivery Managers, engineering leaders and customer representatives, you will provide operational assurance, oversee quality and compliance activities, and support the continued development of a high-performing engineering support function.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead assurance, audit and compliance activities to ensure regulatory, contractual and operational requirements are met.
- Supporting the delivery of contractual and operational performance targets.
- Leading quality and audit programmes, ensuring regulatory and contractual compliance.
- Supporting and developing teams to achieve high standards of performance.
- Champion a positive safety and reporting culture, promoting proactive reporting and effective risk management.
- Analyse performance and assurance data to identify trends, root causes and opportunities for improvement.
- Oversee engineering authorisations, competency management and support the apprentice development programmes.
- Support governance, customer assurance and performance reporting activities across the contract.
- Build strong relationships with customers, stakeholders and suppliers to support exceptional service delivery.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the Quality Management System and future growth opportunities across the portfolio.

What we're looking for
- Experience within a military or civil aviation engineering environment.
- Strong knowledge of quality, compliance and assurance processes.
- Experience conducting audits, investigations and root cause analysis.
- Proven leadership skills with experience developing and managing teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- A commitment to safety, compliance and delivering exceptional customer service.

Vetting and checks
This role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, which involves verifying your identity, employment history, nationality, and criminal record to meet government security standards. In addition, you will need to obtain formal Security Clearance (such as CTC or SC), which includes more detailed background checks on employment, criminal record, and financial history to ensure suitability for working in secure environments. Please note that UK residency requirements may apply for certain levels of clearance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
