AFCS Consultant – Contract

Location: Milton Keynes
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 2–3 days per week onsite
Contract: Long-term contract – 12+ months
IR35: Inside IR35

We are currently looking for an experienced AFCS Consultant to join a major financial transformation programme in Milton Keynes. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced AFCS professional to work on a complex transformation programme within the banking and financial services sector, contributing to the design, implementation and delivery of AFCS solutions.

The Role

As an AFCS Consultant, you will work independently on complex functional and data-related activities, working closely with business stakeholders, technical teams and offshore development teams.

You will be responsible for:

  • Analysing files, data structures and definitions and mapping these to the AFCS data model.
  • Identifying gaps and preparing detailed functional and design documentation.
  • Preparing end-to-end functional solution mapping documents.
  • Working with upstream and downstream systems to map data models across the wider architecture.
  • Defining security, roles and responsibilities within AFCS.
  • Preparing runbooks and user manuals.
  • Supporting business-user training.
  • Supporting SIT and UAT activities.
  • Supporting solution migration and implementation into production.
  • Working closely with offshore development teams and tracking build progress.
  • Supporting stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle and ensuring solutions meet business and functional requirements.

About You

We are looking for an experienced AFCS professional with:

  • 7–10+ years of experience working with AFCS.
  • Strong, hands-on knowledge of AFCS.
  • At least two recent AFCS project implementations.
  • Experience working within complex banking or financial services environments.
  • Strong functional analysis and solution-design experience.
  • Experience with data mapping, gap analysis and functional solution documentation.
  • Experience supporting SIT, UAT and production migration.
  • Experience working with upstream and downstream systems.
  • Ability to work effectively with offshore development teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • The ability to work independently on complex AFCS requirements.
