Senior Affiliate Marketing Manager

As part of our continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Senior Affiliate Marketing Manager to develop and optimise our affiliate marketing channel, build high-value partnerships and drive measurable customer and revenue growth.

Job Summary

The Senior Affiliate Marketing Manager will be responsible for the growth, performance and day-to-day management of the company's affiliate marketing programme. This is a commercially focused, hands-on role covering affiliate strategy, partner development, customer acquisition, campaign execution, performance optimisation and programme operations. The successful candidate will manage and develop relationships across affiliate networks, publishers, comparison sites, content partners, influencers and other performance marketing partners. They will use data and commercial insight to maximise customer acquisition, revenue and return on investment.

Key Responsibilities

Affiliate Strategy & Programme Management

  • Develop and execute the affiliate marketing strategy in line with wider digital acquisition and commercial objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to scale the channel, improve efficiency and increase revenue contribution.

Affiliate Partner Management

  • Manage and develop relationships with affiliate partners including publishers, comparison sites, content partners, influencers, affiliate networks and other performance marketing partners.
  • Build strong commercial relationships and proactively identify opportunities to increase partner engagement, traffic, conversions and revenue.

Partner Recruitment & Development

  • Identify, recruit and onboard new affiliate partners capable of delivering incremental customer acquisition and revenue.
  • Develop existing high-potential partners through improved commercial arrangements, campaigns, incentives and promotional opportunities.

Campaign & Promotion Management

  • Plan and coordinate affiliate campaigns, promotions, incentives and product launches.
  • Work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure offers, creative assets, landing pages, tracking and promotional messaging are delivered accurately and on schedule.

Performance Monitoring & Optimisation

  • Monitor affiliate performance across key metrics including:
    • Customer acquisition
    • Sales and conversions
    • Conversion rate
    • CPA
    • Revenue
    • ROI/ROAS
    • Customer quality and value
  • Identify high-performing, underperforming and high-potential partners and implement optimisation plans to improve overall programme performance.

Reporting & Commercial Insights

  • Produce regular affiliate performance reporting and provide clear, commercially focused analysis.
  • Identify trends, opportunities and risks and translate performance data into actionable recommendations to improve customer acquisition, revenue and marketing efficiency.

Commission & Commercial Management

  • Manage and optimise affiliate commission structures, partner incentives and promotional offers within agreed commercial frameworks.
  • Regularly assess commission levels and partner economics to ensure spend is delivering appropriate incremental value and ROI.

Affiliate Network & Platform Management

  • Manage programme activity across affiliate networks and tracking platforms such as Impact, Awin, Rakuten, CJ Affiliate or similar platforms.
  • Ensure partner information, commission structures, campaigns, promotions and tracking configurations remain accurate and up to date.

Tracking, Attribution & Technical Coordination

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify and resolve tracking, attribution, reporting and technical issues.
  • Conduct regular programme checks to ensure affiliate activity is accurately attributed and partner commissions are calculated correctly.

Compliance & Quality Control

  • Ensure affiliate partners operate in accordance with programme terms, brand guidelines, promotional requirements and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Identify and address inappropriate activity, poor-quality traffic, potential fraud or compliance risks.

Market & Competitor Analysis

  • Monitor affiliate marketing trends, competitor activity, publisher developments and emerging customer acquisition opportunities.
  • Identify new technologies, platforms, partnerships and commercial models that could improve affiliate performance.

Budget & Forecasting

  • Manage affiliate budgets, partner forecasts, commission expenditure and performance planning.
  • Ensure spend is closely monitored and aligned with agreed acquisition, revenue and profitability targets.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Digital Marketing, Product, Commercial, Sales, Finance, Technology, Analytics and Creative teams to ensure affiliate activity supports the wider customer acquisition strategy.

Required Skills & Experience

Education

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Digital Marketing or a related discipline preferred.

Affiliate Marketing Experience

Approximately 5+ years' experience within affiliate marketing, performance marketing, digital acquisition or a related commercial marketing environment, ideally with direct responsibility for managing affiliate programmes.

Affiliate Network & Platform Knowledge

Strong practical experience with affiliate networks and tracking platforms such as Impact, Awin, Rakuten, CJ Affiliate or equivalent.

Performance & Data Analysis

Strong analytical capability with the ability to interpret performance data, identify trends and translate insights into practical optimisation strategies.

Partner Management

Demonstrable experience building and managing relationships with publishers, networks, comparison sites, content partners and other external acquisition partners.

Customer Acquisition

Strong understanding of digital customer acquisition and the ability to grow sales while maintaining appropriate CPA, ROI and customer quality.

Commercial Awareness

Strong understanding of CPA, CPL, CPS, commission structures, conversion rates, customer acquisition costs, ROI/ROAS and performance marketing economics.

Campaign Management

Experience managing multiple digital campaigns, promotions and partner initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced commercial environment.

Communication & Negotiation

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to negotiate commercial arrangements and influence internal and external stakeholders.

Project & Time Management

Highly organised and proactive, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Cross-Channel Digital Knowledge

Good understanding of complementary digital acquisition channels including PPC, SEO, paid social, email, content, display and media buying, and how affiliate marketing contributes to the wider acquisition mix.
