Investment and Asset Manager | London | £80,000–£100,000

Private residential portfolio · Confidential search managed by Velop

A respected private residential investment company is looking for an Investment and Asset Manager to take on a genuinely dual-track role: equal parts active asset management and investment, across an established residential portfolio in London and the South East.

You will be hands-on with operational performance and third-party team management, while also taking clear ownership of the investment lens: valuations, capex prioritisation, transaction support, and long-term portfolio strategy.

The portfolio includes a large urban residential estate with a long-standing and diverse resident community, including affordable, regulated and assured tenancies, alongside a second asset requiring careful strategic capital planning. Experience with affordable or regulated residential is an advantage.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

You will likely come from:

  • An institutional or private residential platform with direct accountability for asset and investment performance
  • A landed estate, housing association, or affordable/mixed-tenure operator where both the investment and operational dimensions of a portfolio sit with one person
