After-School Club Play Worker

Kids Adventure Days Ltd
Location: Fulham, London – Hammersmith & Fulham
Pay: £14.00 per hour
Hours: Monday–Friday, 3:15pm–5:45pm
Contract: Permanent, part-time, term-time only
Start Date: 4th/5th January 2027 (subject to school term dates)
Age Group: 5–11 years
Additional Hours: Opportunities for additional work during school holidays.

About Kids Adventure Days

Kids Adventure Days provides engaging after-school care and extracurricular activities for children aged 5–11. We believe after-school care should be more than just supervision. Our sessions give children opportunities to explore exciting activities including Pottery, Science Fun, LEGO, Jewellery Making, Sewing, Construction, Kids Yoga and Multi-Sports.

About the Role

We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and experienced After-School Club Playworker to support the daily running of our after-school provision in Fulham. Working alongside the Club Leader, you will help supervise children, support the delivery of engaging activities, assist with school collection and create a safe, welcoming environment where children can learn, play and socialise. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, is dependable, energetic and confident supporting activities for different age groups.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Club Leader in delivering engaging, creative, educational and physical activities.
  • Encourage children to participate, explore new interests and develop their skills.
  • Adapt support to suit different ages, abilities and individual needs.
  • Assist with the collection of children from the designated school playground.
  • Support attendance checks, headcounts and safe movement between locations.
  • Supervise children throughout activities and ensure equipment is used safely.
  • Promote positive behaviour, kindness and an inclusive club environment.
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety and emergency procedures.
  • Support children with SEND or additional needs in accordance with agreed arrangements.
  • Communicate professionally with children, parents, school staff and KAD management.
  • Assist with tidying, packing away equipment and leaving the space clean and organised at the end of the session.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Previous experience working with children aged 5–11 in a childcare, school, wraparound, holiday club or similar setting.
  • Basic understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Confidence supervising and interacting positively with groups of children.
  • Ability to support positive behaviour management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Friendly, patient and enthusiastic approach to working with children.
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Available Monday–Friday during term time.

Desirable

  • Level 2 qualification in Playwork, Childcare, Early Years or a relevant field.
  • Paediatric First Aid qualification.
  • Safeguarding and Prevent training.
  • SEND awareness.
  • Experience supporting extracurricular or structured activity sessions.

Working Hours

Monday–Friday, 3:15pm–5:45pm, during the school's published term dates.

The Playworker will arrive ready to support school collection and remain until the end of the session to assist with supervision, safe handover and packing away. Additional hours may be available during school holidays, subject to operational requirements.
