💷 Up to £12.71 per hour

At Junior Adventures Group (JAG), we're looking for enthusiastic Activity Leaders / Playworkers to help create unforgettable experiences for children aged 4–11.
From football and team games to arts & crafts, creative challenges, and structured play, every day is packed with fun, laughter, and opportunities to make a real difference.

🕒 Working Hours
After School Club – Permanent/Term-Time Contract
- Monday to Friday
15:00 – 18:00
Total contracted hours: 15 hours per week
Looking for additional hours? You'll also have the opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week during school holidays through our Holiday Club provision.
⭐ Casual Bank Staff – Zero-Hours Contracts
We also have opportunities for casual bank staff on zero-hours contracts.
Our bank staff provide valuable additional support to our childcare teams and may be offered shifts to cover:
- Staff sickness and unexpected absences
- Staff annual leave and holidays
- Busier sessions and periods of increased demand
- Additional staffing requirements
- Holiday Club sessions and other childcare provision
A bank staff contract can be a great option if you're looking for flexible work without a fixed weekly commitment.
You can work shifts subject to availability and the needs of our clubs, making this particularly suitable for people who want to fit work around other commitments, studies, family life, or other employment.
Please note: A zero-hours bank contract does not guarantee a minimum number of hours, and shifts will be offered according to the needs of the service.

🚀 About the Role
As an Activity Leader / Playworker, you'll help create a safe, exciting, and inclusive environment where children can relax, play, learn, and build confidence after the school day.
Working alongside a friendly and supportive team, you'll deliver engaging activities that encourage creativity, teamwork, and lots of smiles.
No two afternoons are ever the same!
🌈 What You'll Be Doing
- Deliver exciting, age-appropriate activities including multi-sports, arts & crafts, games, and creative play
- Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where every child can thrive
- Supervise and engage children with enthusiasm and care
- Set up and tidy away equipment and activity areas
- Prepare healthy snacks and refreshments
- Complete sign-in and sign-out procedures accurately
- Follow safeguarding, health & safety, and company policies at all times
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver outstanding childcare experiences
- Support the smooth running of the club during busy periods and staff absence
- Help ensure children receive a consistent, positive experience even when staffing requirements change

We're looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about working with children
- Friendly, energetic, and enthusiastic
- Creative and able to make every session exciting
- A great team player with excellent communication skills
- Reliable, organised, and positive
- Flexible and willing to support the team when additional cover is required
Experience We'd Love to See
Experience is welcome but not essential. We'd love to hear from candidates with backgrounds in:
- Playwork
- Childcare
- Sports Coaching
- Teaching Assistant roles
- Youth Work
- Drama, Dance, or Performing Arts
- Education
- Holiday Camps
Most importantly, we're looking for someone with a fantastic attitude and a genuine passion for helping children flourish.

🛡 Safeguarding
This role requires compliance with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
Successful applicants will be required to:
- Complete our online application form as part of our safer recruitment process (CVs alone cannot be accepted)
- Provide two satisfactory references, including one from their most recent employer
- Provide a childcare reference where applicable
- Undergo an Enhanced DBS check
- Provide documentation to support identity, right to work, and vetting requirements
