About the Role

Grayson Thermal Systems design, manufacture, and supply driveline cooling, heating, and air conditioning products for on-highway, off-highway and stationary industries worldwide, including bus, coach, rail, off-highway, commercial vehicles and power generation. A proud UK manufacturer, we work in partnership with our customers and develop innovative ways to improve vehicle performance and reliability. Formed in 1978, we remain a privately owned, family business with exceptional staff throughout the organisation. We ensure the core beliefs that have led to our success remain at the heart of our business operations.

As an Aftermarket Sales Executive, you will support the Aftermarket Sales Manager in managing and growing revenue across Parts, Service and Retrofit. Working across the UK, you will respond to customer enquiries, progress quotations, support account activity, maintain future sales pipeline and help generate and win new opportunities. Retrofit and refurbishment is becoming an increasingly important part of the business, and you will help coordinate opportunities from initial enquiry through to quotation and order. This junior position would suit someone with strong sales potential and an interest in developing commercial and technical knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer requests, RFQ’s, tenders and enquiries for aftermarket parts, identify requirements and provide accurate information on pricing, availability and delivery.
  • Support the maintenance of aftermarket parts pricing in line with agreed pricing rules, supplier cost changes, margin targets and customer agreements.
  • Prepare and follow up commercial proposals and quotations across parts, service, retrofit and reconditioning, progressing opportunities through to order.
  • Support the growth of retrofit business by coordinating customer requirements, technical scope, costs and delivery timescales with the relevant internal teams.
  • Support the Aftermarket Sales Manager with major bus and coach operating groups and assist with allocated smaller accounts, including customer meetings and visits.
  • Generate new opportunities and re-engage dormant accounts through telephone, email, LinkedIn and face to face customer visits.
  • Utilise latest CRM technology to maintain accurate records, quotation tracker and pipeline information, reporting on activity, open quotations and forecast position.
  • Support tenders, framework agreements and contract renewals, and work professionally with Parts Distributors and Service Support Partners.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
