Afternoon Receptionist
Paul Rigby Ltd is seeking a friendly, organised Afternoon Receptionist in Stourbridge, West Midlands. This role ensures visitors and callers receive a professional, welcoming experience and supports the smooth running of daily front-of-house and administrative tasks within an automotive environment.
Purpose of the Role
Provide a reliable, customer-focused reception service during the afternoon shift, manage incoming calls and enquiries, and carry out general administrative duties that keep the customer-facing side of the business operating efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist visitors and customers in a polite and professional manner.
- Answer and direct telephone calls, take messages and manage voicemail.
- Manage appointment bookings and customer check-ins, where applicable.
- Process basic administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, data entry and maintaining reception areas.
- Coordinate with workshop and sales teams to relay customer information and updates.
- Handle cash or card transactions if required, and assist with basic invoicing or paperwork.
- Maintain accurate records and assist with ad hoc office tasks to support colleagues.

Essential Skills And Experience
- Previous reception, customer service or front-of-house experience.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills and a friendly telephone manner.
- Basic IT skills, including familiarity with email, Microsoft Office and data entry.
- Good organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritise tasks.
- Ability to work reliably during the specified afternoon shift pattern.

Desirable Skills And Experience
- Experience within the automotive sector or with workshop administration.
- Familiarity with booking or CRM systems used in customer-facing environments.
Qualifications
- Relevant GCSEs or equivalent qualifications are helpful but not essential; demonstrable reception or customer service experience will be considered.
What the Organisation Offers
This is a part-time, permanent role working afternoons. The salary is £16,523 to £16,523 per Annum.
