Job Title: Aftersales Compliance Specialist (UK & EU)
Salary: Up to 60K + Life Insurance + ECOS Scheme + Free Lunches
Location: London – 5 days on site (with travel across the UK & EU expected)
Start date: ASAP

Reports to: Head of Aftersales
This role can be considered the linchpin of the aftersales department, ensuring commercial safety and compliance with all regulations (import / export, recalls, labelling etc.). You will be the central figure ensuring the smooth running of the aftersales function with one of the UK’s own, homegrown automotive manufacturers. If you have a long history in aftersales, understanding both the operations and regulatory side of things, you would be a strong fit for this role. Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance & Product Safety
- Track and ensure compliance with UK and EU product safety regulations, including UKCA, CE marking, and General Product Safety requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation such as technical files, risk assessments, and declarations of conformity.
Parts Compliance, Import & Supply Chain Oversight
- Oversee sourcing, import, labelling, storage, and sale of spare parts, ensuring traceability, correct documentation, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Fulfil importer obligations including conformity verification, correct marking, and provision of safety and instruction information.

Recalls, Safety Defects & Service Campaigns
- Lead identification and investigation of safety defects and non-conformities.
- Plan and execute recalls and service campaigns, including regulatory notifications, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and compliant customer communications.
Consumer Rights, Warranty & Aftersales Compliance
- Ensure alignment with UK and EU consumer protection laws across warranties, returns, repairs, and replacements.
- Maintain clear, fair, and compliant policies while monitoring regulatory developments such as the right to repair.
Labelling, Marking & Conformity Assessment
- Ensure all products and parts meet marking, labelling, and conformity assessment requirements, including correct use of certification routes and approved bodies.
Stakeholder & Regulatory Engagement
- Act as the key point of contact for regulatory bodies, authorities, and industry groups.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams including supply chain, quality, legal, engineering, and service networks.
Risk Management, Auditing & Reporting
- Maintain a compliance risk register and lead audits across parts, suppliers, and processes.
- Track performance metrics such as recalls, complaints, and defect rates, and provide regular reporting and recommendations to senior management.

Training & Continuous Improvement
- Deliver compliance training to internal teams, dealers, and suppliers.
- Monitor regulatory changes and drive updates to processes, policies, and supplier requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: 5-8+ years in automotive aftersales / parts / regulatory compliance / warranty / product safety, or equivalent in OEM or major supplier, with experience in both UK & EU markets.
Knowledge:
- Deep understanding of UK & EU regulatory system for product compliance (UKCA & CE marking, General Product Safety laws, recall & safety defect legislation, consumer protections, import / customs requirements, labelling/marking).
Technical Acumen:
- Good technical understanding of automotive components / systems (mechanical, electrical/electronic), failure modes, quality control.
Skills:
- Strong project management; excellent stakeholder engagement; strong analytical and risk assessment skills; ability to coordinate cross-functional teams; excellent written & verbal communication; attention to detail.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering / Regulatory Affairs / Quality / Legal / similar, or equivalent experience.
- Certifications in product safety, compliance, or quality are advantageous, but not required.
Attributes:
- Proactive, decisive, able to work under pressure & tight deadlines; integrity, high standards; comfortable in multi-jurisdiction environment; willingness to travel across EU/UK.
