About us
VolkerLaser repairs, strengthens and waterproofs concrete and steel structures, offering a tailored package of specialist works to clients across the UK. Our structural solutions include bridge deck waterproofing, expansion joints, concrete repair and cathodic protection works, steel repair and strengthening work, carbon fibre and temporary works, jacking and bearing replacement. We also provide specialist lightweight decking and access solutions, as well as being specialists in long bridge and cable refurbishment.
About the role
VolkerLaser is currently seeking a Site Agent to join its Southern team, working on a variety of projects across the Southampton and Guildford areas.
This is an excellent opportunity for a talented construction professional to take ownership of project delivery, lead high-performing teams, and ensure the successful achievement of client expectations, quality standards, and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the safe and successful delivery of projects, ensuring key programme, commercial, and quality objectives are achieved.
- Provide leadership and direction to project teams, driving performance and continuous improvement.
- Build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and subcontractors to support successful project outcomes.
- Monitor project progress, costs, risks, and resources, implementing corrective actions where required.
- Manage site operations, ensuring compliance with company procedures, industry standards, and project requirements.
- Control project changes and assess their programme and commercial impact.
- Support the commercial management of projects, working closely with the Quantity Surveyor to achieve budget and margin targets.
- Ensure compliance with quality, environmental, and design requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

About you
- Previous experience in delivering infrastructure projects, ideally projects consisting of Concrete structures or bridges
- Ability to produce Work Package Plans, Task Briefing Sheets, and safe systems of work
- Previous experience as an Agent or in a similar role with similar responsibilities
- Strong organisational and management skills
- Knowledge of the requirements and implementation of CDM regulations
- Knowledge of Safety, Quality and Environmental issues
- Hold relevant qualifications SMSTS/ SSSTS/ CSCS
- A degree (or nearest equivalent) in Civil Engineering related subject
