What You Will Be Doing

You will be on a development journey to guide your growth into the role of Graduate Thermal Engineer and can expect to be involved in the following:

  • Design and verify thermal control systems for a diverse range of missions including Earth Observation & Science, Exploration, and Telecommunications
  • Undertake complex space environment work packages such as plume impingement investigations, micrometeorite analysis, outgassing, planetary surface simulations etc.
  • Build expertise with industry-standard thermal engineering tools (e.g., Systema Thermica/Thermisol, ESATAN-TMS, DRAMA, Python, Visual Basic and FORTRAN) while gaining direct experience with flight hardware.
  • Develop leadership and project management skills by taking ownership of work packages, presenting technical findings and collaborating effectively with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Gain end-to-end spacecraft engineering lifecycle experience, spanning from spacecraft mission analysis, initial conceptual design through to verification and in-flight performance analysis
  • Broaden your knowledge through internal placements within Airbus Defence and Space (e.g. Propulsion, Systems Engineering, or Attitude and Orbit Control Systems)

What We Are Looking For

To be a successful applicant, you will need to demonstrate you have:

  • A degree level or equivalent within Engineering, Physics, Maths or similar.
  • Recently graduated or first professional experience in the field of Engineering, Physics, Maths or Space.
  • Strong verbal and written communication in our business language (English)
  • A desire to work in a collaborative team environment, focused on driving future innovation
  • The ability to be self aware and a wish to be in the driving seat of your development.
