Business Analyst - Permanent - Public Sector
Location: Remote with occasional travel to client site in Newcastle
Salary: Up to £50,000 + Benefits
Clearance: Candidates must be eligible for SC Clearance, have 5 years UK residency, and the correct right to work status in the UK.
A leading IT Consultancy and Transformation client is looking to onboard multiple Agile Business Analysts to work across an interesting Public Sector focused project.
Join a high-performing delivery team helping organisations design and deliver complex digital and business transformation programmes. Working in an agile environment, you’ll bridge the gap between business needs and technology delivery, ensuring solutions create measurable value and deliver meaningful user outcomes.
As an Agile Business Analyst, you’ll work across multidisciplinary teams to shape requirements, define future services and support delivery from discovery through to implementation.

- Leading business analysis activities across agile delivery teams to support complex digital transformation programmes.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to understand business challenges, identify opportunities and define user-centred solutions.
- Facilitating workshops to gather requirements, align priorities and drive decision making.
- Translating business needs into clear user stories, acceptance criteria and backlog items.
- Supporting service and process design activities including current-state assessment and future-state definition.
- Working closely with Product Managers, Delivery Managers, Architects and Engineering teams to ensure successful delivery.
- Mapping end-to-end processes and identifying opportunities for simplification, automation and optimisation.
- Supporting prioritisation and backlog management within agile delivery environments.
What You’ll Bring
- Demonstrable experience as a Business Analyst within agile delivery environments.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, hybrid delivery).
- Experience gathering and documenting functional and non-functional requirements.
- Proven workshop facilitation and stakeholder engagement capability.
- Experience defining and managing user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Strong process mapping and business modelling skills.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into business language.
- Experience working across multidisciplinary delivery teams.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.

Desirable
- Experience supporting Discovery, Alpha, Beta and Live delivery phases.
- Exposure to service design and user-centred design practices.
- Knowledge of digital transformation and operating model change.
- Experience within consulting or large-scale enterprise delivery environments.
- Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps or equivalent tooling.
- Security clearance held or eligible.
