Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for an Agile Delivery Manager to join our team in Prescot.

This is a brand-new, pivotal role within our IT function during an exciting period of digital transformation, modernization, and business growth. As a trusted global leader spanning five generations, we combine our rich heritage with modern technology to drive continuous innovation across our international operations.

Key Role Highlights & Responsibilities:

  • Work Life Balance: Enjoy a great work-life balance with 3 days on-site at our Prescot head office and 2 days working from home.
  • Global Impact: Work as part of a collaborative, forward-thinking global team shaping our ongoing IT strategy.
  • Scrum & Agile Leadership: Facilitate key Scrum events (Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Retrospectives) and coach teams on Agile best practices.
  • Release & Delivery Management: Plan, coordinate, and lead software releases for all in-house applications across the full lifecycle.
  • Cross-Functional Bridge: Act as the key link between technical development teams, QA, IT Support, and business partners to remove blockers and drive delivery.
  • Continuous Improvement: Research and implement new configuration and delivery methodologies to automate and enhance deployment speed and quality.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

To be successful at Alfred H Knight you will need to display the following:

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including agile and hybrid delivery models (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and tooling such as Jenkins, Git, Azure DevOps, or GitLab.
  • Knowledge of release and change management processes, including integration with ITIL functions and governance requirements.
  • Basic understanding of software architecture concepts, APIs, cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure), and microservices.

Required Competencies

  • Outstanding communication, facilitation, negotiation, and coaching skills.
  • Strong collaborative and problem-solving skills, with the ability to bring fresh, creative ideas to challenges.
  • Proactive, curious, and solution-oriented with a drive to challenge the status quo and exemplify Agile values.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.

Required Work Experience

  • Proven experience working in an Agile Delivery role (e.g., Scrum Master, Agile Delivery Manager, Software Delivery Manager, Product Owner).
  • Demonstrable experience facilitating meetings across multiple organizational levels.
  • Strong experience managing stakeholder expectations and navigating complex stakeholder scenarios.

Required Qualifications

  • Certified Scrum Master qualification (preferred).
  • Degree educated (desirable).
