Agile Delivery Lead (FTC - 6 Months)

At UKTV, we're on an exciting digital transformation journey. Following exceptional growth in 2024, our streaming platform U achieved:

✅ 15% growth in direct-to-consumer viewing
✅ 23% increase in monthly active users
✅ 18% growth in registrations

As we continue to expand our streaming proposition across mobile, web, and Connected TV platforms, we're looking for an experienced Agile Delivery Lead to join us on a 6-month fixed-term contract and drive the successful delivery of our ambitious product roadmap.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a delivery-focused Agile leader who thrives in fast-paced digital environments and enjoys bringing teams together to deliver outstanding customer experiences at scale.

The Role

Reporting into the Head of Digital Production & Development, you'll lead a team of Scrum Masters and be responsible for driving the successful release of working software across UKTV's streaming platforms.

You'll play a pivotal role in optimising delivery processes, managing dependencies and risks, enhancing release cadence, and ensuring our squads can consistently deliver value to millions of viewers.

Working closely with Product, Engineering, QA, and external platform partners, you'll champion Agile best practice while creating an environment where teams can thrive.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Scrum Masters
  • Drive delivery across mobile, web, and Connected TV platforms
  • Optimise workflows, release management, and delivery processes
  • Manage risks, dependencies, and delivery roadblocks
  • Support empowered, self-organising Agile squads
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning
  • Work closely with Product Owners and Product Managers to align priorities and outcomes
  • Use delivery metrics and performance data to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Build trusted relationships with engineering teams and platform partners
  • Provide clear stakeholder reporting on progress, risks, and delivery outcomes
  • Champion Agile ways of working across the wider business
  • Maintain a predictable and effective release cadence for the U platform

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience

  • Experience leading and developing teams in Agile environments
  • Proven success delivering digital products through Scrum and/or Kanban frameworks
  • Strong track record of improving delivery processes and team effectiveness
  • Experience working with Product, Engineering, and QA teams to deliver customer-focused outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to remove complex blockers and manage competing priorities
  • Experience using Agile metrics such as velocity, lead time, and burndown charts to improve performance
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience working within cross-functional digital product teams
  • Proven ability to inspire, motivate, and align teams around shared goals

Technical & Agile Expertise

  • Deep understanding of Scrum principles, events, and Agile best practices
  • Strong knowledge of software development lifecycles for consumer-facing digital products
  • Experience with CI/CD, version control, and modern engineering practices
  • Strong understanding of at least one platform environment:
    • Web
    • Mobile
    • Connected TV
  • Advanced Jira experience, including workflow and dashboard creation
  • Experience with release planning and governance structures
  • Understanding of compliance requirements such as GDPR
  • Strong appreciation of engineering challenges and software delivery complexities
