About the team

The FIS Securities Processing division has an extensive roadmap for changes to its Clearing and Settlement functions, including adoption of industry initiatives, major product enhancements across different regions, and ongoing maintenance of current features.

We seek an experienced securities processing Product Owner to work within an Agile framework for this modern real-time event driven securities back-office platform.

What you will be doing

  • You will work closely with the scrum team to deliver the product vision on time and to the required quality standards.
  • You will communicate progress to key stakeholders, manage backlog change requests through user stories, and adjust planning as needed.
  • Execute product vision as defined by the Securities Processing Group & Product Management team.
  • Work closely with Product Management and development teams throughout the software development life cycle to ensure success of development initiatives.
  • Manages work backlog to maintain a healthy and updated pipeline of work.
  • Prioritizes the work items in coordination with Scrum master and Product Manager.
  • Ensures the traceability of business requirements for development projects, including scope definition and design.
  • Collaborate with other Product Managers for cross-functional product enhancements, including regulatory and industry initiatives.
  • Provide updates on product roadmap and enhancements, including regulatory and industry initiatives.
  • Work alongside Product Manager to review development priorities, User stories definition.
  • Contribute to testing and managing products through initial launch and subsequent releases.
  • Provide internal and external training for new products and features.
  • Work with professional services and Implementations team as needed.
  • Participate in Feature Reviews for new and existing clients.

What you bring

  • 5+ years of experience in financial services industry, as a product owner, preferably in back-office securities operations, broker-dealer operations or in other relevant Fintech firms.
  • Proven experience with different European and North American market infrastructures and facilities with a focus on securities processing back-office functions. e.g. Euroclear Bank, CREST, SIX SIS, Clearstream, DTC, CDS, NSCC, FICC, BONY, FED.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of the securities industry flows in equities and fixed income, especially around SWIFT MT/MX messaging in the context of clearing and settlement.
  • Knowledge and practice of Agile Methodology.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and influence teams in terms of work priorities.
  • Ability to see and understand the “big picture” and to translate strategic business objectives into tactical steps.
  • Proven ability to research, analyze and generate scope and business requirements documents.
  • Strong presentation and product demonstration skills.
  • Strong analytical and organization skills and ability to manage multiple priorities whilst adhering to deadlines.
  • Must be responsible, dedicated, self-motivated and dependable.
  • Experience in interacting with Clients, upper management and senior leadership.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Bonus if you have

  • Knowledge of FIS Securities Processing operations.
  • Knowledge of other domain areas e.g. Cash management, Collateral management, Securities financing or Corporate Actions.
  • General understanding of user experience constructs.
  • Knowledge of additional messaging protocols including FIX, Bloomberg XML.
  • Knowledge of Central counterparty flows and processes.
  • Knowledge of Asian Settlement flows.
