Agile Project Delivery Manager
6 month initial contract
£550 to £600 per day - Inside IR35
Hybrid working Newcastle upon Tyne
TrueNorth are supporting a large, complex UK-based organisation undergoing a major ERP and critical operations transformation programme.
We are looking for an experienced Agile Project Delivery Manager to take hands-on responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of key workstreams across the programme.
Working with the Programme Delivery Lead, you will translate the overall programme plan into coordinated delivery activity—keeping teams focused, removing blockers and ensuring risks, issues and dependencies are actively managed.
The Role
This is a hands-on, tactical delivery role. You will work closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, project managers and third-party delivery partners to maintain momentum and ensure agreed outcomes are delivered.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the day-to-day delivery of assigned projects and workstreams
- Translating programme milestones into clear, achievable delivery plans
- Coordinating multidisciplinary teams across business, technology and operational functions
- Facilitating agile delivery ceremonies, including planning sessions, stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives
- Tracking progress against agreed milestones, deliverables and outcomes
- Identifying and removing blockers before they affect delivery
- Proactively managing risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies
- Escalating problems appropriately, with clear options and recommendations
- Managing actions and ensuring owners remain accountable for delivery
- Coordinating dependencies between internal teams and third-party partners
- Providing clear, accurate reporting to the Programme Delivery Lead and senior stakeholders
- Supporting programme planning, re-baselining and resource coordination
- Driving continuous improvement in how teams plan, communicate and deliver

This is not a role for someone who simply facilitates meetings or produces status reports. You will be expected to get close to the detail, understand what is preventing progress and work with the relevant people to move delivery forward.
Key Skills and Experience
We are looking for someone with:
- Strong experience managing delivery within complex transformation, ERP or technology programmes
- A proven track record of managing multiple teams or interconnected workstreams
- Excellent practical knowledge of agile delivery methods and ceremonies
- The ability to apply agile principles pragmatically within a large, evolving programme
- Strong risk, issue, dependency and blocker management experience
- Confidence working with technical teams, business stakeholders and third-party suppliers
- The ability to create clear delivery plans and maintain momentum in ambiguous environments
- Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills
- Experience using delivery and planning tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps or MS Project
- The judgement to resolve issues directly while knowing when escalation is required
- Experience of working on programmes involving critical operational, supply chain, manufacturing or enterprise systems would be particularly valuable.

The role is expected to be an initial 6 month contract and will sit inside IR35.
The organisation is based in Newcastle and will need hybrid working 2-3 days onsite regularly with the possibility of more on occasion depending on critical project milestones.
Availability - The preferred candidate will be available to start immediately or within two weeks, although there may be some flexibility for an exceptional candidate.
