Agile Project Manager

Global Investment Banking

Location: Glasgow
Contract: 12 months
Working pattern: Hybrid

The Opportunity

We are seeking a mid-level Agile Project Manager / Scrum Master to join a leading global investment banking organisation in Glasgow on an initial 12-month contract.

This role would suit someone who has experience as a Project Manager with strong Scrum Master / Agile delivery experience, or a Scrum Master / Agile Delivery professional who is confident taking ownership of project delivery.

You will work within a global technology function, partnering with delivery squads and technology stakeholders to drive the successful delivery of multiple initiatives. The role combines hands-on Agile delivery, project management and stakeholder coordination within a complex, matrixed environment.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Drive the delivery of multiple technology projects, initiatives and workstreams from planning through to execution.
  • Work closely with development, QA, support and technology teams to coordinate delivery.
  • Take ownership of delivery plans, milestones, priorities and dependencies.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives and reviews.
  • Apply Scrum and Agile methodologies across multiple delivery teams.
  • Identify, track and manage risks, issues, actions and dependencies.
  • Coordinate delivery across globally distributed teams and multiple stakeholders.
  • Facilitate planning sessions, stakeholder meetings and delivery reviews.
  • Provide clear and concise project reporting and progress updates.
  • Drive improvements to delivery processes and Agile ways of working.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure key delivery information is accessible.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who can bridge the gap between Project Management and Scrum Master responsibilities.

You should have:

  • Proven experience delivering technology projects or initiatives.
  • Strong practical experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies and working closely with technology delivery squads.
  • The ability to take ownership of project delivery, including planning, milestones, risks, issues and dependencies.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and working across different teams.
  • Experience using JIRA or similar Agile delivery tools.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work effectively within a global, matrixed technology environment.

Desirable Experience

The following would be advantageous but are not essential:

  • Experience within financial services, banking or another large enterprise environment.
  • Experience working with software development, infrastructure or technology teams.
  • Exposure to public cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
  • Experience working with Kubernetes or cloud/platform engineering teams.
  • Exposure to cybersecurity, Secrets Management or PKI.
  • Knowledge of Kanban methodologies.
