Assistant General Manager – Battersea
Salary: £45,000–£47,000
Humble Grape Battersea is looking for an ambitious and passionate Assistant General Manager to join our team and help deliver the exceptional guest experience we're known for.
This isn't just an operational role, it's a genuine opportunity to grow. You'll work closely with our senior team, gain a deeper understanding of the business and build a clear pathway towards becoming a General Manager.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading the floor during busy services, making confident decisions and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Supporting the General Manager in running smooth, efficient and high-performing daily operations.
- Championing Humble Grape's standards across wine, food, service and guest experience.
- Coaching and developing your team, building a positive culture and strong performance.
- Driving commercial performance, with hands-on exposure to P&L, GP, covers, spend per head and stock control.
- Identifying opportunities to improve operations, team performance and profitability.
- Working across our seven venues, gaining wider business exposure and learning from different teams and environments.
- Working towards a structured GM pathway, with a personal development plan and senior leadership mentorship.

What We're Looking For
- Previous AGM or equivalent management experience in a busy, quality-led hospitality venue.
- A natural leader who leads by example, earns respect and develops their team.
- Strong operational skills, with the confidence to manage busy services and make decisions under pressure.
- Commercial awareness, with an understanding of GP, P&L and venue performance.
- A genuine passion for food, wine and hospitality. WSET is a bonus.
- Ambition to progress to General Manager, with the drive, self-awareness and willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Full right to work in the UK.
