The Role

Spectinga is looking for an experienced agricultural machinery technician to join a new field service team. You’ll work across a wide range of brands and machines, diagnosing and repairing everything from straightforward faults to the jobs where the answer isn’t immediately obvious. Most work will be carried out in the field, with workshop facilities available when the repair requires them. There will be regular driving and overnight stays. Some jobs will be straightforward. Others will be the ones where the machine has already beaten everyone else. We want someone who enjoys both.

What makes the role different?

• Brand agnostic — work across tractors, handlers, construction equipment and machinery from different manufacturers. • Technology built for technicians — we’re building tools to actively support fault finding, technical information, parts identification and repair estimating, while removing as much paperwork and admin as possible. • Your van is your office — home-based, autonomous and trusted to get on with the job. • Monthly tool allowance — to maintain, replace and add to your own tools.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic faults. • Identifying parts and estimating repair requirements using our tools and systems. • Taking ownership of jobs from diagnosis through to resolution. • Speaking directly with customers about faults and repairs. • Inspecting and repairing machinery owned by Spectinga where required. • Using voice, photos, video and digital tools to capture job information with minimal admin.

About You

We’re less interested in the badge on your overalls and more interested in whether you can diagnose and fix machinery. We’re looking for: • Around 5+ years’ experience diagnosing and repairing agricultural, plant, construction or other heavy machinery. • Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault-finding skills. • Confidence working independently and dealing with customers. • A practical, methodical approach to diagnosis. • Comfort using phones, laptops, tablets, diagnostic equipment and apps. • A team-first attitude and willingness to share knowledge. • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel and stay away when required. Agricultural machinery experience is strongly preferred, although strong candidates from plant, construction equipment, HGV or forestry will also be considered. If you’re the technician people tend to ring when the fault isn’t obvious, we’d particularly like to hear from you.
