I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

What We’re Looking For
- Extensive experience in sustainability strategy across agriculture, food, retail, processing, or a closely related field.
- An ability to manage customer relationships, accounts or business-development activity.
- Experience leading projects and turning strategic objectives into practical delivery.
- Up-to-date awareness of sustainability policy and emerging issues affecting agricultural supply chains.
- The credibility to advise customers and communicate technical subjects clearly to varied audiences.
- Well-developed writing skills, along with experience preparing technical or training resources.

We’re prioritising someone who can combine sustainability understanding with solid account management and commercial skills. Location and Travel
This is a UK-wide role involving regular travel to processor and retailer customers, sites and farmer meetings. A Midlands base or strong access to the motorway network would be helpful, but we won’t use geography as an unnecessary barrier for the right person with the appetite to travel.
