The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen working as part of a friendly and successful team based in our Lanark Office. The Agricultural Technician plays a key role in supporting consultants and senior colleagues by delivering high-quality technical and project support.
This role focuses on providing practical and administrative support to farming and rural businesses, ensuring accurate, timely, and professional delivery of technical tasks. The post holder will work under close supervision while developing core technical skills essential to the consultancy environment.
Responsibilities
Technical Delivery
- Carrying out a range of technical tasks following established processes, instructions, and standard operating procedures under close supervision.
- Typical activities may include:
- Livestock record keeping
- Bookkeeping and data entry
- Financial data analysis
- Mapping and GIS-related work
- Sampling and associated fieldwork
- Working safely and independently across varied environments including client sites and field locations, consistently adhering to safe working practices.
Client & Project Support
- The role involves supporting consultants to deliver a high commercial standard of service.
- The post holder will maintain positive and professional client relationships, ensuring that client needs are met and that accurate Customer Relationship Management records are kept.

Operational & Administrative Responsibilities
- The post holder will ensure that timesheets, Client Business System (CBS) records, and project management systems are kept up to date and accurate.
- They may also be asked to provide administrative support to local consultants to help maintain project standards and CBS hygiene.
Commercial Contribution
- The role contributes directly to SAC Consulting’s commercial performance by delivering fee-earning work.
- The post holder will be expected to meet utilisation and income levels appropriate to the grade and to record work accurately to support financial reporting.
This is a part-time (14 hours per week) fixed-term role for 9 months.
