Agriculture Co-ordinator

Location: Dungannon, Northern Ireland

Department: NI Broilers

Reporting to: Head of Agri Improvement Projects

Pilgrim's Europe is looking for an organised, proactive, and detail-oriented Agriculture Co-ordinator to support the continued growth and development of our Northern Ireland farming network.

This exciting role will focus on coordinating IPPC permitting, planning applications, and environmental projects across our poultry farm estate, supporting both existing operations and future expansion plans. Working closely with farmers, management teams, consultants, and regulatory bodies, you'll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and in compliance with environmental and planning requirements.

What You'll Be Doing

Environmental Permitting & IPPC Applications

  • Prepare and submit IPPC applications for new contract growers.
  • Manage permit variations for existing poultry sites.
  • Support permit consultations and Schedule 4 notices.
  • Provide guidance and feedback to growers following IPPC inspections.
  • Maintain accurate permit records and documentation.
  • Attend site inspections and liaise with the Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA).
  • Assist with budget preparation and project planning.

Planning Application Support

  • Coordinate planning applications for new and existing poultry sites.
  • Respond to planning consultations and information requests.
  • Collaborate with architects, ecologists, environmental consultants, and planning specialists.
  • Arrange specialist reports including:
    • Air dispersion modelling
    • Noise assessments
    • Ecology surveys
    • Drainage reports
    • Archaeological assessments

Project Coordination & Administration

  • Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
  • Support internal and external environmental projects.
  • Ensure applications and associated reports are completed accurately and on time.
  • Build strong relationships with the Broiler and Breeder Management teams and farming groups.

Health, Safety & Environmental Responsibility

  • Promote a safe working culture and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Support farmers and growers with health and safety awareness.
  • Identify and report risks, incidents, and environmental concerns.
  • Contribute to sustainability initiatives including waste reduction and environmental improvements.

About You

We're looking for someone who can manage multiple priorities, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and maintain a high level of accuracy and professionalism.

Essential Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong understanding of agricultural operations, ideally within the poultry sector.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational ability.
  • Positive and collaborative approach to work.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Understanding of broiler production and poultry supply chains.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations, planning applications, or permitting processes.
  • Awareness of poultry hygiene and biosecurity requirements.
  • Computer literacy and confidence using business systems.
  • Ability to use initiative and work independently when required.
