Agriculture & Rural Affairs Solicitor | 5–7+ Years PQE
Cheltenham | £70,000+ DOE | Full-Time
GMP Recruitment Agency Limited are delighted to be supporting a highly respected Gloucestershire law firm with the recruitment of an experienced Agriculture & Rural Affairs Solicitor with 5–7+ years’ PQE to join their vastly successful team.
This is a newly created position and represents a genuinely exciting opportunity for an ambitious solicitor to take ownership of the development of an Agriculture & Rural Affairs offering from the ground up.
The successful candidate will not simply inherit an established caseload or step into an existing team. Instead, you will have the opportunity to shape the division, develop the client base, establish your own profile within the market and ultimately build a team around you.
Experience across areas such as agricultural property, farm sales and purchases, agricultural tenancies, farming partnerships, succession planning, rural businesses, land management and estate planning is required.
The Opportunity
The firm is looking to invest in and develop its presence within the Agriculture & Rural Affairs sector and is seeking an experienced solicitor who can bring both technical expertise and a strong commercial mindset.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
