Role Overview
With substantial experience working as part of a clinical team, leading teams and working multiprofessionally this role will provide the opportunity to work with our 9 AHP professions.
Responsibilities
The AHP Lead for Workforce and Education is responsible for supporting the development, implementation and evaluation of workforce, education and continuing professional development strategies for the Allied Health Professions (AHPs). The role provides strategic leadership for practice development, promotes the sharing of best practice, and supports a culture of learning, improvement and professional excellence.
Working within the Corporate Nursing Directorate, the postholder will support the Chief AHP, AHP Professional Heads and operational teams to align corporate and Care Group education and training activity and will also be responsible for the effective use of education resources and commissioned programmes. The postholder will be a registered AHP with current clinical knowledge and expertise, alongside significant experience in workforce development, education and continuing professional development.
A key member of the AHP Leads Forum and AHP workforce at UHNM.
- Lead and develop the AHP Workforce and Education Team providing a Trust wide approach to this including programmes of work such as preceptorship
- Represent UHNM and Staffordshire and Stoke-On-Trent (SSOT) regarding Workforce Training and Education programmes of work.
- Support the implementation of a Trust wide inclusive talent management approach for AHPs
- Lead the development of appropriate learning environments and improving AHP staff, student and learner experience across the Trust for pre-registered, support workers and registered AHP workforce.
- Support and contribute to establishing systems that support AHP Professional and Operational Leads with the planning and delivery of workforce transformation, recruitment, workforce and talent development.
- Undertake projects to support the Trust’s objective to achieve Operational Excellence, leading AHP Workforce Development and Education within the Centre for Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professions (NMAHP) Research and Education Excellence (CeNREE).
