AI Accelerator

The AI Accelerator is a brand-new, London-based hub, within @computationalinnovation, comprising computational biology, human genetics, data, and AI expertise.

Purpose

The purpose of the AI Accelerator is to provision production-quality, versatile, foundational biomedical AI capabilities that can be adapted and deployed to improve and accelerate portfolio decision-making, furthering understanding of the biology driving patient outcomes and identifying mechanisms that increase probability of success.

Organisation

To achieve this purpose, the AI Accelerator is organised around three key capabilities:

  • AI Systems: focussing on neural methods
  • AI Reasoning: focussing on causality and knowing why
  • AI Enablement: powering AI Systems and AI Reasoning with big data provisioning, MLOps, and AI infrastructure

AI Systems

  • Will exploit neural-based methods to integrate data and impute and infer across the biomedical landscape.
  • Could be electronic health records and medical imaging to support patient segmentation.
  • Could be ‘omics data to understand gene regulation and identify novel therapeutic concepts.
  • Could be predicting transcriptional change for a given disease-causing variant.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

AI Reasoning

  • Will supplement AI Systems by focussing on developing approaches to identify cause and effect, predict the outcome of an intervention, provide a rationale for a model decision.
  • Could be providing causal structure to multi-omics data.
  • Could be providing orthogonal rationale to a black-box model generated hypothesis.
  • Could be identifying features that are driving model predictions.

AI Enablement

  • Will support AI Systems and AI Reasoning by provisioning harmonised multimodal data for distributed training, managing the model lifecycle, and partnering with the IT organisation to ensure AI Systems, AI Reasoning, and downstream beneficiaries have the necessary infrastructure and tooling to prototype, implement, adapt, and deploy AI capabilities to advance the portfolio.
