AI Adoption Lead

Responsible for
- Defining and driving AI First vision, strategy, governance, and value realisation approach.
- Working across all business functions, providing strategic leadership for AI adoption.
- Ensuring AI investments are aligned with organisational objectives, risk appetite, and growth ambitions.
Based at
Remote with travel to London Waterloo and Portsmouth
Scope
- Covering the use of AI within Bell for Bell’s internal use.
- Working alongside Product and Proposition teams to ensure synergy and shared lessons learnt with customer propositions.
- Representing Bell as Customer Zero for case studies.
Purpose
- Working closely with business and IT leaders to provide strategic direction.
- Overseeing the AI portfolio and tracking value realisation.
- Ensuring AI capabilities are embedded across Bell in a sustainable, scalable, and outcome-focused way.
- Identifying and prioritising AI opportunities aligned to business objectives.
- Establishing governance and responsible AI practices.
- Developing frameworks for measuring outcomes such as productivity gains, cost savings, revenue growth, and employee and customer experience improvements.
Role
- Lead the creation, evolution, and successful delivery of Bell’s AI First Strategy, ensuring AI is embedded into the organisation's operating model, culture, services, and ways of working to drive innovation, efficiency, and competitive advantage.
- Design, implement, and continuously improve an enterprise-wide AI operating model and governance framework that provides clear accountability, decision-making processes, risk management, and responsible AI standards across the organisation.
- Develop and drive the organisation's AI adoption strategy, ensuring employees, teams, and business units are equipped, engaged, and supported to effectively leverage AI technologies and realise their full potential.
- Establish and maintain a robust AI value measurement framework that defines how benefits are tracked, measured, and reported, enabling the organisation to demonstrate tangible outcomes from AI investments.
- Identify and define strategic priorities for AI investment and innovation, ensuring resources are focused on opportunities that align with organisational goals, deliver the greatest business impact, and support long-term growth.
- Oversee the delivery of measurable business outcomes from AI initiatives, ensuring projects achieve agreed objectives relating to productivity, efficiency, customer experience, revenue growth, risk reduction, or other strategic benefits.
- Evaluate, prioritise, and manage the portfolio of AI opportunities and initiatives, ensuring investment decisions are based on strategic alignment, value potential, organisational readiness, and delivery feasibility.
- Provide regular executive-level reporting and insight on AI performance, risks, opportunities, adoption, and value realisation, enabling informed decision-making and ensuring continued alignment with organisational objectives.

Person Specification
- The ideal candidate will have the strategic mindset of a transformation leader, the commercial awareness of a business consultant, the curiosity of an innovator, and the influence of a senior change professional.
- Comfortable operating at executive level, able to navigate uncertainty, and passionate about helping the organisation realise measurable value from AI investments while building long-term organisational capability.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience developing AI strategies that align with organisational objectives and drive measurable business outcomes.
- Experience working with Microsoft Copilot, OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, or other enterprise AI platforms and technologies.
- Proven experience identifying, evaluating, and prioritising technology or AI opportunities based on strategic value, business impact, and organisational readiness.
- Experience developing business cases, investment proposals, and value realisation frameworks, including defining and tracking benefits such as productivity gains, cost savings, revenue growth, and customer experience improvements.
- Experience building AI capability programmes, communities of practice, or organisational learning initiatives.
- Experience engaging and influencing senior stakeholders, including Executive Leadership Teams, and business unit leaders.
- Experience establishing governance frameworks, operating models, policies, or standards to support the successful adoption of new technologies.
- Experience driving organisational adoption of new technologies, including stakeholder engagement, communications, capability development, and change management activities.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and working collaboratively across business, technology, data, security, and operational functions.
- Experience delivering technology-enabled initiatives from concept and pilot through to enterprise-wide implementation and scale.
- Experience using data, metrics, and performance reporting to measure outcomes, inform decision-making, and demonstrate business value.
