Job Description

What is the opportunity?

You will join RBC Global Asset Management as an AI Analyst, embedded directly within the investment floor. You will sit alongside portfolio managers, analysts, and traders, acting as their go-to expert on how to use AI to make better investment decisions. You will combine deep technical understanding of AI systems with the ability to scope, build, and iterate on real use cases in partnership with the people who will use them every day.

Should you be shortlisted, do please let us know if you have any specific requirements for the interview.

This is a permanent, full-time role and requires 4 days in the 100 Bishopsgate, London office.

What will you do?

  • Embed with individual desks, diagnosing their workflows and developing AI-powered solutions tailored to their specific investment process
  • Design, test, and optimise AI workflows that solve real problems for investment teams, from initial scoping through to reliable, repeatable output
  • Research new model architectures, agent frameworks, and tooling, and translate findings into practical recommendations and working prototypes for investment teams
  • Build and maintain evaluation frameworks for benchmarking output quality and reliability for tools used in the investment process
  • Be the most technically informed person on the investment floor regarding AI capabilities and limitations
  • Collect structured feedback from users, analyse interaction patterns, and use that data to continuously improve tool design and adoption

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • A strong mental model for how AI systems work and why they behave the way they do. When a major advance lands you should be the person who can quickly understand what changed, why it matters, and how to put it to work
  • Proven skill in getting the best out of AI systems, including advanced prompt, context and loop engineering, RAG, agentic and multi-step workflows
  • Knowing how to evaluate whether AI output is reliable enough to act on in an investment context
  • Strong programming ability in Python, with comfort building against APIs, scripting, and rapid prototyping
  • Proficiency with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or GitHub Copilot and an ability to use them to build and iterate on solutions significantly faster than traditional development
  • Strong numerical, statistical, or mathematical foundations, ideally demonstrated through a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Intellectual curiosity and a habit of staying up to date with AI developments
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain technical AI concepts to portfolio managers and traders in terms that connect to their day-to-day work

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
