AI and Automation Developer
Central London – Hybrid
£35,000–£45,000
Applause IT is recruiting an AI and Automation Developer for an established managed IT services and cyber security provider based in Central London.
This is an opportunity for a graduate or junior technology professional to build practical AI and automation solutions within a live business environment. You’ll work closely with senior technical colleagues who have already identified the strategy and priority use cases, giving you the support to turn those ideas into reliable working solutions.
The role combines AI, automation, data, and systems integration. You’ll help improve service delivery, reporting, and internal processes while developing valuable experience across Microsoft technologies, business systems, and generative AI.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Developing and extending an internal AI automation platform to improve service desk efficiency
- Building automation scripts across RMM and PSA platforms, including N-able, ConnectWise, and Halo
- Investigating and developing APIs and integrations between business systems
- Using Microsoft Copilot, Claude, and Microsoft Foundry to build practical business solutions
- Creating workflows and applications using Power Apps and Power Automate
- Cleaning and reconciling data from multiple platforms
- Building Power BI dashboards covering service delivery, client health, and financial performance
- Supporting AI projects from initial brief through development, testing, and implementation
- Producing clear technical documentation and keeping it updated
- Measuring the time, cost, and operational improvements delivered by each automation
- Identifying further opportunities to use AI and automation internally and for clients

What We’re Looking For
You could be a recent graduate or an early-career professional with a background in computer science, data, AI, automation, or business systems. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
You should have:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good knowledge of Microsoft 365
- Some practical experience with Power Apps or Power Automate
- Working knowledge of Python, PowerShell, or another scripting language
- Some experience analyzing data and producing Power BI reports or dashboards
- An understanding of APIs and confidence reading technical documentation
- A genuine interest in applying AI to real operational problems
- Strong documentation habits and attention to detail
- The ability to explain technical work clearly to non-technical colleagues
Exposure to REST APIs, JSON, Azure, Microsoft Graph, Copilot Studio, or Microsoft Foundry would be beneficial. Experience with an MSP, IT services provider, RMM platform, or PSA system would also be useful, although it is not essential.
