Technology and delivery

• Set the technology and architecture direction across AI, data and cloud programmes, acting as the final escalation point for major design decisions.
• Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, cost-efficient, responsible and production-ready, with appropriate governance, monitoring and evaluation.
• Oversee AI adoption, cloud strategy and workload migration roadmaps across complex client technology estates.
• Manage a portfolio of engagements, maintaining accountability for delivery quality, business outcomes, risk, budgets and timelines.

Team partnerships and business development

• Build, lead and develop a multidisciplinary team of AI engineers, data specialists and cloud architects, including hiring, mentoring and capability development.
• Develop relationships with technology partners such as Anthropic, Microsoft, AWS and Google Cloud to create joint pipeline and co-delivery opportunities.
• Lead proposals, pitches, commercial models and thought leadership that grow BIP's AI and cloud offering in the UK.
• Promote knowledge sharing, professional certification and collaboration across BIP's international network.

About you

You will be a commercially minded technology leader who can move confidently between strategy, architecture and delivery. You will have the executive presence to challenge assumptions, create direction in ambiguous environments and build trust with senior business and technical stakeholders.

You are likely to have:

• At least ten years of experience across AI, data and analytics, cloud or technology consulting, including senior leadership responsibility.
• A strong track record of delivering large-scale AI, Generative AI, cloud or digital transformation programmes from strategy through to implementation and adoption.
• Credibility across both data and AI and cloud architecture, with the ability to set direction and challenge technical teams in each area.
• Experience building and scaling a practice or multidisciplinary team, including hiring, mentoring and capability development.
• Experience owning a commercial target and growing accounts through proposals, pitches and partner-led opportunities.
• A clear understanding of how AI and cloud can create business value, improve decision-making and transform processes, products or customer experiences.
• Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills at executive level.
• An entrepreneurial and collaborative approach, with the adaptability to work effectively across international and cross-functional teams.

Technical knowledge

You should have deep knowledge across the following areas:

• Artificial intelligence, Generative AI and Agentic AI.
• Large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, AI agents, automation and enterprise AI patterns.
• Machine learning and advanced analytics.
• MLOps and LLMOps, including AI evaluation, monitoring and observability.
• Modern data architectures, data platforms and data products.
• Data governance, security, privacy and responsible AI.
• Cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure, AWS and/or Google Cloud, with deep expertise in at least one.
• Cloud-native architectures, microservices, containerisation including Docker and Kubernetes, and DevOps.
• Cloud strategy, adoption, workload migration, hybrid and multi-cloud environments, and FinOps.
• Cloud infrastructure, networking and security.
• API integration and enterprise architecture.

Preferred experience and qualifications

• A degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, data science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Relevant AI, data or cloud certifications, such as Google Professional Machine Learning Engineer, Microsoft Azure AI Engineer, Databricks certifications, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect or Certified Kubernetes Administrator.
• Experience leading large-scale AI, data, cloud or digital transformation programmes for enterprise clients.
• Experience in consulting or professional services, ideally with responsibility for a practice or profit and loss account.
• Experience working with hyperscaler partner ecosystems and co-sell programmes.
