About us
Joseph Hage Aaronson & Bremen LLP is a specialist London litigation firm handling complex disputes. We are investing in AI and better ways of working to improve the service we provide to clients.
The opportunity
You will help a specialist litigation firm improve how work gets done through practical use of AI, automation and better processes. Working directly with legal teams, you will investigate problems, identify opportunities and turn agreed improvements into working practices that colleagues can use.
You will bring fresh ideas and work with colleagues to put them into practice. You will contribute to the firm's AI and practice improvement roadmap and work alongside IT and technical specialists. Where a new tool or automation would help, you will define the need and requirements, work with technical colleagues on delivery, and help users test and adopt the result.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys asking questions and making things work. You will combine business analysis with practical coaching, with opportunities to make an immediate difference to current work and contribute to larger improvements across the firm.
What you will do
Help colleagues use AI effectively
- Deliver practical AI sessions, coach colleagues on real tasks and provide day-to-day support using approved tools.
- Help people at different experience levels define tasks and prepare source material. Show them how to improve instructions and outputs, recognise the tools' limitations and check their work.
- Write short guides and reusable examples, support new starters and encourage colleagues to share what works. Follow up to check they can use the approaches independently.
Find and deliver practical improvements
- Find problems and unmet needs by asking questions, mapping workflows and investigating causes. Agree scope, requirements, constraints and acceptance criteria with users.
- Contribute to the firm's AI and practice improvement roadmap, recommend priorities and coordinate delivery of agreed initiatives. Work with senior management to balance immediate improvements and larger initiatives as tools and needs change.
- Keep a prioritised backlog in a tracking tool, recording responsibilities, decisions and progress. Weigh benefits, effort, costs and risks across existing tools, process changes, automation and new products.
- Run small trials with clear success criteria and practitioner feedback. Include the time needed to check results when assessing an approach, and recommend whether to extend, revise or stop it.
- Identify where custom tools or automation could solve recurring problems. When development is agreed, turn user needs into clear requirements and work with technical colleagues through testing and adoption.

Assess results and keep guidance current
- Assess whether new AI developments could be useful to the firm.
- Track whether people continue using improvements and how these affect quality, turnaround, confidence and time spent. Record implementation and running costs, and report results and obstacles to management.
- Coordinate reviews of the AI policy and guidance with legal, compliance and IT colleagues. Make sure training and working practices reflect agreed requirements for confidentiality, data handling and responsible use. Refer legal and security decisions to the relevant owners.
- Make purchasing and development recommendations that are proportionate to the need, explaining costs, benefits and ongoing support requirements.
What you will bring
Essential
- Substantial practical experience using AI: investigating problems, improving instructions and context, assessing outputs and recognising limitations.
- Experience helping colleagues or clients change how they work, with examples of what they continued using afterwards.
- Strong business analysis skills, including interviewing users, mapping processes, defining scope and documenting requirements and acceptance criteria. You are curious about unfamiliar workflows and actively investigate problems, including those colleagues have not raised themselves.
- Clear, patient communication. You can coach people with different levels of confidence and work constructively with busy senior professionals.
- The ability to track priorities and actions, organise trials, coordinate contributors and assess results. We do not require experience with a particular tracking platform.
- Commercial judgement about how improvements affect service quality, capacity, costs and business priorities. You also consider confidentiality, checking effort and the work needed to maintain a solution.

Helpful experience
- We prefer experience in a law firm, legal team or a role working closely with legal professionals, particularly in litigation or disputes. This could be in business analysis, legal practice, legal operations, knowledge management or legal technology implementation. We are also open to candidates from other sectors, including business analysts, who have strong practical AI skills and a record of improving complex professional workflows.
- Familiarity with tools like Claude, Microsoft Copilot or AI-assisted legal research platforms such as Practical Law and Westlaw UK would be useful. Experience in automation, training or working with developers would also help.
You do not need a legal qualification, a software development background or a formal BA or teaching qualification.
What success looks like
You will start helping colleagues with current work from the outset, resolving everyday difficulties as you learn about the firm. Useful discoveries should quickly become guidance, coaching or changes to how work is done.
Within three months, you should be able to show that more people are using approved tools confidently and that their work has improved in quality, effort or turnaround. We expect you to spread successful approaches across teams and adapt as tools and needs change, moving quickly while exercising sound judgement and checking that improvements last.
