About the Job
As an AI Architect, you define the end-to-end architecture for AI-enabled solutions across Allianz Technology, translating business objectives into technical blueprints, reusable solution frameworks, and AI reference architectures. Partnering directly with Allianz Operating Entities (OEs), the AI Engagement Manager, and local IT and vertical teams, you reuse and extend Minimum Viable Solutions (MVS) and AI Building Blocks - or design custom architectures where needed - to move from discovery to production-ready, enterprise-scale AI solutions at speed.
What you do
- Define and own the end-to-end architecture of AI solutions, ensuring scalability, security, interoperability, and future readiness.
- Translate business objectives and OE problem statements into technical blueprints, reusable solution frameworks, AI reference architectures, and integration standards.
- Design architecture patterns for multi-system integration, API orchestration, data harmonization, and AI-driven workflows.
- Architect GenAI-enabled capabilities such as intelligent assistants, copilots, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agents, and automation pipelines.
- Reuse and extend MVS/AI Building Blocks, designing custom services, integrations, and agents when reusable components do not fit.
- Be integrated with local and global domain experts to understand problems and translate them into production-ready AI architectures.
- Govern solution lifecycle management, versioning, and alignment with enterprise architecture principles, including AI governance and responsible AI standards.
- Ensure security, compliance, and reliability of solutions; define CI/CD, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code approaches as needed.
- Provide technical leadership during architecture reviews, PoCs, AI pilots, and enterprise-scale implementations, ensuring measurable business value.
- Document, operationalize, and contribute new patterns back to the central building-block catalogue so one solution powers the next.
- Evaluate emerging technologies - GenAI platforms, agentic frameworks, vector databases, and orchestration tools - and recommend architectural improvements for performance, scalability, and cost optimization.
What you bring
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Significant IT experience with a strong track record in an Architect or Technical Architect role, ideally in regulated or large-scale environments.
- Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale solutions across data platforms, cloud, integration, and application modernization.
- Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or Zachman (preferred).
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP), including cloud-native services.
- Comfortable operating in unfamiliar codebases, domains, and partner environments; identifying issues and delivering value.
- Working knowledge of the modern data/AI stack (e.g., Python, APIs, vector databases) and integrating LLM/agent frameworks; prompt-first mindset.
- Practical experience with cloud-native stacks and DevOps (CI/CD, containers, Kubernetes), testing/observability, and secure coding in regulated settings.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills; pairs effectively with an AI Engagement Manager and stakeholders, and executes with thorough documentation.
- Fluency in English.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
