We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of AI Architect.

Principal Responsibilities
- Engage and influence senior stakeholders across GCIO, Business lines and the AI leadership team to drive strategic solutions and support platform development, ensuring alignment to organisational strategy and priorities.
- Bring thought leadership on the integration of AI capabilities into existing systems and processes, simplifying consumption, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards, for safe and measured adoption of AI.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership on the architecture and design for Group AI platform which provides fundamental AI/GenAI services and capabilities.
- Track and translate AI/GenAI industry trends into actionable architecture decisions, identifying opportunities and risks to ensure secure adoption.
- Introduce new practices, processes, operating model, techniques, products, services, technologies, and standards where needed, via the appropriate governance bodies and in collaboration with stakeholders in business, architecture, and engineering communities.
- Champion AI strategy and enablement across HSBC Architecture and Engineering forums, ensuring adherence to standards, principles, and ethical/responsible use.
- Collaborate with CTO technology domain owners to identify and position core capabilities and products within their respective roadmaps.
- Support the innovation function in evaluating AI product vendors through review and PoC activity.

Accountabilities & Deliverables
- Development of AI Platform reference architecture – both logical and technical, comprising data, model, compute, tooling, orchestration and governance, with detailed Architecture design of each layer
- Create Integration architecture design that details connection of AI capability to data, applications, APIs together with integration with Cloud & system telemetry (e.g. FinOps, data assets, model consumption).
- Define a Blueprint for platform infrastructure design comprising compute (both hybrid-cloud and on-premises), storage, networking, security and access.
- Design Authority and deliver reusable products and architectures focused on core, high-value use of AI that meet the needs of the organization.
- Own both, capability roadmap for centrally engineered core AI capabilities, and core AI tooling capabilities in architecture taxonomies.
Leadership & Teamwork
- Provide thought leadership within the organization, staying abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies relating to AI to inform strategic decision-making and secure adoption
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on AI/GenAI to cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Knowledge & Experience/Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge and experience on GenAI/Agentic AI related architectures, frameworks, and design patterns
- Intensive hands-on engineering experience in designing and delivering AI/GenAI solutions to production
- Strong experience in architecture design of scalable and resilience AI platform, including model lifecycle, tools, controls and AI capabilities
- In-depth knowledge and extensive experience in senior Architecture roles within large scale, complex and internationally regulated organisations
- Fast learning and adaptable in the rapidly evolving AI domain, quickly absorbing industry trend and new concepts and translating them into practical guidance, design and patterns
- Understand cybersecurity, data privacy, model risk, legal, compliance and control requirements applicable to AI in the financial services industry
- Ability to navigate change across a global, matrixed organisation.
