Role Description

The AI Assurance Business Development Executive — Digital Transit Limited is a full-time, on-site role based in Manchester, Lancaster, or Huddersfield.

The position focuses on identifying, qualifying, and securing new business opportunities for AI assurance solutions within the rail and broader infrastructure sectors. Day-to-day responsibilities include prospecting and lead generation, conducting client meetings and presentations, developing tailored proposals, and managing the sales pipeline from initial contact through contract negotiation and closing. The role also involves building and maintaining strong relationships with key accounts, collaborating with technical and product teams to align offerings with client needs, and monitoring market trends to refine go-to-market strategies. The Executive will be expected to report on performance metrics, contribute to strategic planning, and represent Digital Transit at industry events and conferences.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated skills in New Business Development and Lead Generation, with a track record of winning new clients and growing revenue.
  • Strong Business acumen, including understanding of commercial models, market positioning, and strategic sales planning.
  • Excellent Communication skills, with the ability to present complex AI and data-driven solutions in clear, accessible language to diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in Account Management, including nurturing long-term client relationships and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Experience in technology, data, or AI-related industries; exposure to rail, transport, or infrastructure sectors is highly beneficial.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, data science, and product teams to shape client-focused solutions.
  • Confidence in using CRM systems, sales analytics tools, and standard office software to manage pipelines and report performance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in business development.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple opportunities and meet deadlines.
