About Moon Commerce
Moon Commerce Limited is a UK-registered technology company building and operating digital ventures across commerce, consulting, property and SaaS. We trade online, advise businesses on digital transformation and data-driven marketing, and are developing an AI-powered automation platform that turns repetitive processes into scalable systems.
We're small and early-stage, which means the person in this role will see the whole business rather than one corner of it.
The role
We're building an agentic automation platform that replaces repetitive operational work with systems. This role is hands-on building and testing those workflows — not research, not prompt tinkering. You'll ship things other people depend on.
You'll work directly with the leadership team on what gets built and why.
What you'll do
- Build and test automation workflows using LLM APIs
- Work on retrieval over internal and client documents
- Integrate with third-party tools and APIs across our ventures
- Write evaluations — decide how we know a workflow is working and catch it when it isn't
- Take workflows from prototype to reliable enough to run unattended
- Document what you build so someone else can pick it up

Your first three months
- Month 1: learn the ventures, get into the existing codebase, and ship a small automation end-to-end
- Month 2: Own a workflow in production with evaluation coverage
- Month 3: lead the build on a client-facing automation
What we're looking for
- Minimum 2 years' hands-on Python experience
- Practical experience with an LLM API (Anthropic, OpenAI or similar) — something you built, not just used
- Comfort working with REST APIs and JSON
- Understanding of RAG and why grounding matters
- Git, and the habits that come with working in a shared repo
- A realistic view of where these models fail and what to do about it
- Clear written English — you'll be documenting and explaining decisions
- Right to work in the UK — we cannot offer sponsorship
- Able to work from our [area] office 2 days a week
Nice to have
- Vector databases (Pinecone, Chroma, pgvector or similar)
- LangChain, LlamaIndex or equivalent
- AWS or other cloud deployment
- Automation tooling (n8n, Zapier, Make) at a technical level
What we offer
- Salary £35,000–£39,000 depending on experience
- 25 days' annual leave plus 8 UK bank holidays
- Office closed between Christmas and New Year

Hiring process
- 20-minute introductory call
- 45-minute technical conversation about something you've built
- 30-minute conversation with the founding team
We aim to give a decision within a week of the final stage, and we give feedback either way.
