AI Automation Specialist (Pricing) - Graduate Apprenticeship Programme

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Pricing Team as an AI Automation Specialist, where you'll work on real business challenges while developing your skills through a Level 6 Machine Learning apprenticeship programme.
About the Role
As an AI Automation Specialist, you'll help transform how pricing decisions are made by using data, analytics, machine learning, and automation to drive commercial performance.
You'll join a team focused on delivering intelligent solutions that improve pricing effectiveness, automate processes, and generate actionable insights. This role is ideal for graduates who are passionate about data and technology and want to apply their technical skills to solve real-world business problems. You'll work alongside experienced pricing, analytics, and technology professionals on projects that have a direct impact on business performance.
Alongside your day-to-day role, you'll receive structured development and training, building both your technical expertise and commercial understanding.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll gain hands-on experience across a range of exciting projects, including:
- Developing analytics and automation solutions that support pricing decisions
- Using Python and SQL to analyse large datasets and generate business insights
- Supporting the development of machine learning and AI-driven pricing models
- Building and maintaining data pipelines and automated reporting processes
- Exploring customer behaviour, pricing trends, elasticity, and commercial performance
- Creating dashboards, visualisations, and presentations that communicate complex findings clearly
- Working with stakeholders across Pricing, Commercial, Technology, and Data teams
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes through automation and AI
- Supporting the adoption of new tools, solutions, and best practices across the business
- Contributing to RS Group's wider AI and digital transformation ambitions

What We're Looking For
We're looking for curious, analytical, and ambitious graduates who want to build a career at the intersection of data, AI, and commercial decision-making.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong Python skills
- Strong SQL skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capability
- Ability to interpret and communicate data-driven insights
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Interest in machine learning, AI, automation, and advanced analytics
- Confidence presenting findings to non-technical stakeholders
- Creative thinking and a passion for finding innovative solutions
Ideal but Not Essential
We'd particularly like to hear from candidates who have exposure to:
- Statistics, machine learning, or predictive modelling
- Data engineering and feature engineering concepts
- Pricing, economics, or commercial analytics (e.g. willingness to pay, price elasticity, share of wallet)
- Stakeholder management and storytelling with data
- Snowflake or AWS
- Databricks or Spark
- SAP, Salesforce, or ERP systems
- Power BI

A Bachelor's degree in a technical or analytical subject such as:
- Data Analytics
- Data Science
- Computer Science
- Mathematics
- Statistics
- Economics
- Business Analytics
- Engineering Or a related discipline
You'll thrive in this role if you:
- Enjoy working with data to answer questions and solve problems
- Are naturally curious and regularly explore new technologies and AI tools
- Feel comfortable experimenting, learning, and improving ideas through evidence and feedback
- Can spot patterns, synthesise insights, and turn them into clear recommendations
- Are excited by technology but not intimidated by technical concepts or teams
